Cribs for Kids

The South Milwaukee/St. Francis Health Department partners with Cribs for Kids and The Period of Purple Crying for our Safe Sleep Program. The program educates parents on the importance of safe sleep and provides Pack N Plays to families who cannot otherwise afford a safe place for their infant to sleep. The Health Department meets with parents and talks about an infant's normal early crying period, or inconsolable crying, which can sometimes be seen as frustrating and may lead to shaking or abuse. Discussing this normal infant behavior helps parents to better understand the expected features of crying and provides them with tools on how to manage this infant stage. *Residents must meet income eligibility. Please contact us (414-768-8055) for more information.*
