Job Summary:

A Police Officer performs a wide variety of police functions, including but not limited to: crime suppression, crime prevention, community engagement, protection of personal liberties, regulation of non-criminal conduct, and provision of a wide variety of services. Police Officers are given work instructions by superior officers on new assignments but work independently in performing regularly assigned duties.

We have a number of career opportunities within the department. Police officers have the ability to work several different specialized assignments during their career. They also have the opportunity to move within the department while learning new skills on the job.
